Duo is about bringing a piece of Sicily to Berlin, with a modern twist. From unique flavors like Pesto di Pistacchio made with olive oil, to our fruity vegan sorbets, we focus on both quality and innovation.

Duo stands for quality, authenticity, and Sicilian heritage. All our gelato contains fiber, less sugar, and no artificial flavors. We use only the world’s best ingredients: pistachios and hazelnuts sourced directly from Sicily, alongside milk and cream from local farms.

With five locations, Duo has become a Berlin favorite, known for exceptional gelato, signature glaze, homemade cannoli, and innovative vegan options—all served in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

A Family Legacy

Owner and founder of Duo Sicilian Ice Cream, Antonio Tomasello, carries forward a family legacy that began in 1972. His story is deeply rooted in his family’s passion for gelato. It all started when Antonio’s father left Bronte, Sicily, for Germany with a dream: to share the rich, authentic flavors of his homeland. He opened his first ice cream shop in Münster, quickly gaining a loyal following thanks to his dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Antonio grew up surrounded by this passion, spending summers helping in his father’s shop. By the age of 12, he had already created his first chocolate gelato, sparking a lifelong love for gelato-making.

In 2016, Antonio took over the family business and founded Duo Sicilian Ice Cream. After years of learning the craft, refining recipes (like adding more and better fruit) and exploring new ideas, he transformed the family business into Duo Sicilian Ice Cream in 2016. Staying true to his roots while embracing innovation, Antonio created a brand that speaks to both traditionalists and modern audiences.

A growing Reputation

Our first store on Skalitzer Straße in Kreuzberg is the heart of Duo, known for its welcoming atmosphere and famously long queues – a testament to our reputation for excellence. With five locations across Berlin and counting, including Prenzlauer Berg and Harzer Straße, Duo continues to grow while staying true to its Sicilian soul. And it doesn’t stop there. Our 400-square-meter Duo Food Lab in Kreuzberg serves as a production hub and creative space, allowing us to push boundaries and bring even more exciting flavors to life.
